In Gumla, an initiative has been taken to keep the Sohrai art alive. It also has its artists. May this art survive. For this, the Forest Department has taken a unique initiative in Gumla. The old Sohrai art of Jharkhand state is being promoted in Gumla.
Sohrai art is also known as Bhitti painting. This art is being promoted by the Gumla Forest Division. Under this, pictures are being made on the walls of various government departments located in the district headquarters including the forest department by the forest department. In which different types of pictures are being made including different types of animals – birds, women, men, farm-barns, houses, dancing and singing, dancing and hunting by humans and animals. Due to which people are also getting to see the extinct culture of Jharkhand.
