Former Bihar Minister Bandi Oraon was cremated today with tribal rituals in his native village. The body was buried in the garden near his house and cremated. On this occasion, he was given the Guard of Honor by the police administration and prayed for the peace of his soul after two minutes of silence. Villagers, dignitaries, and all party workers from several districts and blocks, including Bharno, Sisai, Bedo, Gumla, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Simdega, Khunti, and thousands of party members attended the funeral procession.
Thousands of people, including former son of former IG-cum-BJP leader Dr. Arun Oraon, Multi-former Education Minister Geetashree Oraon, Sisai Legislative Assembly MLA Jigga Munda, SDO Ravi Anand, paid their last respects. Earlier, people from the area flocked to pay their last darshan. Bandi Oraon died at his home in Ranchi. On Wednesday, people started arriving at his ancestral house in Gumla from 8 am itself. Political party workers and their families, including villagers, reached Basai Toli. Here, the younger sister of the Bandi Oraon, Bhado Oraon cried after seeing the body of his elder brother. At the same time, Dr. Arun Oraon also wept upon seeing his father’s last darshan.
