Counting of votes was made on Friday for voting on April 16 in 34 municipalities to form city government. Aspirant of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation, BJP candidate Asha Lakra won the Mayor’s post. He won a total of 39616 votes. At the same time, BJP’s Sanjeev Vijayavargiya was declared victorious in the post of Deputy Mayor. BJP has captured Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Adityapur and Medinagar municipal mayor and deputy mayor seat.
