Chief Minister Hemant Soren meet her family members on Friday, after 39 days of death of Sahibganj Mahila Police Station in-charge Roopa Tirkey. CM meet her mother Padmavati Oraon, father Devanand Tirkey. The family members told the CM that they feared that Sub Inspector Roopa Tirkey had not committed suicide, but it was murdered.
The family has also expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation so far in this case. He urged the CM that a fair investigation should be conducted in the entire matter and strict action should be taken against those found guilty so that justice can be done. The CM said that Roopa Tirkey was like his sister. I am saddened by the death of a superior woman police officer of tribal society. He assures Roopa‘s parents and the delegation that they will get justice. Whoever is involved or found guilty in this will not be spared at any cost. Strict legal action will be taken against them. In the Roopa Tirkey death case, there will be justice at all costs.
The CM said that a one-member inquiry commission has been constituted in this regard for a fair and detailed investigation of the entire matter. Former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Vinod Kumar Gupta will submit his report after conducting a detailed investigation into the whole matter.
Sahebganj Mahila Police Station in-charge Roopa Tirkey was found dead at her official residence on May 3. The cause of death was stated as suffocation in the post-mortem. At the same time, in this case, the boy friend of Roopa Tirkey is Shiv Kumar Kanaujia, posted at the post of sub-inspector in Chaibasa, has been arrested.
