Common people are going through an economic crisis in the Corona period. Someone’s job is lost, someone’s business is closed. Due to this, the burden of schools is weighing heavily on parents. Schools have increased the tuition fee like every year, but to such an extent that for not depositing the fee on time, the late fee has been increased to Rs 500, that too every month.
Earlier late fee in St. Xavier’s School was Rs 100 which has been increased to Rs 500. Many schools have doubled the late fee than before. During the Corona period last year, the schools did not charge a single rupee late fee after the instructions of the Education Minister. But this time the arbitrariness is at its peak. Schools have increased the late fee so that parents pay the fee every month.
The schools in the city have insisted on charging the annual fee before the monthly fee. Parents want him to somehow deposit the monthly fee so that online studies are not interrupted. But as soon as the parents visit the website of the school to deposit the fee, they are asked to deposit the annual fee before the fee for the month of April. Under the annual fee, other fees including maintenance, medical, lab library, sports, mass media, attendance, SMS are being charged.
St. Francis School is taking Rs. 40000 in the name of annual fee and Rs. 6400 to St. Xavier’s School. Parents say that when children are not going to school, then why are they taking money in the name of sports, medical, lab, library. Even for online classes of the school, many schools are charging Rs 200 per month.
